The cause we aimed to enable through our workshop was to foster creativity and innovation in problem-solving, particularly within the design field. The challenges we address revolve around individuals' difficulties when approaching problems from a unique perspective or generating new, innovative solutions. These difficulties can stem from various factors, such as a lack of creative confidence, fear of failure, or the inability to view problems from different angles.
One of the primary reasons we chose to address this cause is because of its widespread relevance and impact. Creativity and innovation are crucial within the design field and in various sectors and industries. Thinking outside the box and coming up with innovative solutions is a valuable skill that can drive success and progress. Additionally, we believe that everyone has the capacity to be creative and innovative, but often, these abilities can be stifled by restrictive thinking patterns or environments.
Therefore, by providing a workshop that encourages creative thinking and offers tools and methods to facilitate innovation, we can help individuals unlock their creative potential and equip them with the skills to tackle challenges in a unique and effective manner. Our workshop used the Waffle Methodology to address these challenges. This methodology encourages individuals to view problems from different perspectives (Dreamer, Realist, Critic, and Executor), thereby promoting diverse thinking and creative problem-solving. The activities and discussions within the workshop were designed to engage participants, promote creativity, and foster a deep understanding of the design thinking process. This way, we aimed to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to approach problems creatively and generate innovative solutions.
What did you learn?
Throughout the workshop, I observed that participants were highly interested in our methodology. It was evident that the concept of waffling sparked their curiosity, and they realized the potential of generating innovative ideas from seemingly meaningless concepts. I also learned a lot about myself during the workshop. I discovered that embracing waffling can create numerous valuable ideas, and I gained confidence in thinking outside the box.

The presentation of our workshop was engaging and captivated the participants’ attention. Our team clearly understood what we wanted to achieve and how we intended to execute it, resulting in a smooth and successful session. The combination of our captivating methodology and the simplicity of the workshop resonated well with the participants, exceeding our expectations.

We have chosen Instagram and TikTok as our primary marketing platforms to bring the Waffle Method to the forefront and engage our target audience. These social media channels offer a vibrant, engaging, and visually enticing environment, adept at capturing the attention of our intended demographic - young professionals, students, and those with a passion for creativity. Given the immense popularity of Instagram and TikTok amongst these groups, we believe they are the ideal platforms to generate enthusiasm and inspire potential participants for our innovative workshop.

In addition to our strategic choice of Instagram and TikTok as marketing platforms, we have also leveraged our graphic design and product design skills to create visually compelling content that resonates with our target audience. Through captivating visuals, eye-catching graphics, and engaging design elements, we aim to communicate the essence of the Waffle Method and its potential for unlocking creativity. Our team has employed various design tools and techniques to develop aesthetically appealing promotional materials, including posters, social media graphics, and video snippets, all aimed at showcasing the workshop's value and generating interest among our audience. By integrating our design skills into the marketing strategy, we strive to establish a strong visual identity for the Waffle Workshop and attract individuals who appreciate the fusion of design and innovative thinking.
